NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – Crews were called to a fire at a business on West Street in Northampton Monday night.

Northampton fire officials announced road closures just after 5 p.m. on West Street in the area of Main Street due to the active structure fire at East Heaven Hot Tubs. All units, including off-duty firefighters and mutual aid, were called to assist.

Crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire and the road reopened after a few hours. It caused significant damage to the rooftop.

“Had this fire continued unchecked for much longer, the building would be in much worse shape and there is a high likelihood it would have spread to the adjacent structures,” Northampton fire officials said. “The staff at East Heaven did an amazing job ensuring all occupants were out of the building. “

No injuries were reported.

Fire departments from Holyoke, Hadley, Hatfield, South Deerfield and Amherst provided mutual aid.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
