PLAINFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A roadway in western Hampshire County is shut down Friday morning, due to flooding caused by a broken beaver dam.
Plainfield Highway Superintendent Walter Jennings told 22News West Hill Road in Plainfield is currently shut down. Jennings said a nearby beaver dam broke during the heavy rains Thursday night, causing the road to flood.
The road is expected to be open later Friday afternoon. Plainfield Chief Litchfield told 22News the roadway was also damaged in the winter of 1995.
