Southampton residents participated in town wide elections Tuesday to pick two select board seats and vote on a proposed override that would raise nearly $500,000 in additional tax revenue to fund multiple town departments due to a budget deficit.
Southampton Town Clerk Janine Domina told 22News the preliminary results are in, after town staff had to hand count more than 450 ballots late Tuesday night. The voting machine went down during peak voting hours, Domina said.
