Residents shocked following arrest of Northampton H.S. custodian

Hampshire County

A Northampton High School custodian has been arrested after police say, modifications were found in a girls bathroom.

22-year-old Michael Kremensky of Florence is facing charges after police say they found several holes in the ceiling of a girls bathroom in Northampton High School.

“You would like to send your kids to school knowing they are safe and you certainly don’t want them to be spyed upon.”

Kremensky faces charges including four counts of photographing an unsuspecting nude person.
Northampton Police Chief, Jody Kasper told 22News he was placed under arrest late Friday night.

Chief Kasper said Kremensky had been a custodian at the high school since August, 2017. He was placed on leave Thursday, shortly after the investigation began.

Letter’s have been sent home to parents notifying them of the situation. School officials and police have inspected other bathrooms, locker rooms as well as changings areas. Nothing more suspicious has been found.

One woman told 22News she hopes the school does more prior planning, before hiring someone.

“Well that they’ll be careful of who they hire, investigate and look into their history and everything and be more cautious about who they hire and he’ll be punished for what he did,” said Mecaye Santos.

Counselors and support staff will be available for students on Monday.
