Road work in Easthampton and Southampton will begin Monday morning.
According to MassDOT Spokesperson Patrick Marvin, milling work will begin on Route 10 at 6:30 a.m. and continue until 4 p.m. daily until Friday, May 4.
During the road work Route 10 will be down to one lane of alternating traffic in order to allow crews and contractors to work safely and effectively.
Marvin said the milling is in preparation for paving work that is expected to take place later in the spring.
The road work is weather dependent and subject to change without notice.
MassDOT is advising drivers to reduce speed and use caution while approaching and traveling through the area.
