Another Hampshire County trustee has resigned amid the college’s financial troubles.
As the college continues to struggle about its future, a second trustee has called it quits.
Following a recent board meeting, Hampshire College’s Board of Trustees said there has been a significant breach of confidentiality.
As a result, board member, Mingda Zhao resigned Tuesday.
This comes just a day after the board’s Chairwoman, Gayle Hill announced her departure.
Although we do not know the severity of the incident, college officials said that “trust is essential to the integrity and functioning of any board.”
However, they said these resignations are not related to any specific proposals being considered to secure Hampshire’s future.
Nine staff layoffs are expected to begin this month, with more expected after.
