Slippery commute for local drivers following Thursday’s storm

Hampshire County

It was a messy morning commute in western Massachusetts Friday.

The road was pretty sloppy and slushy.

Drivers were taking it slow as plow crews worked to clear the roads.

Over in Amherst, crews were working to clear the snow from sidewalks and streets. One driver told 22News despite the slush, roads were good.

“The Town of Amherst does a wonderful job. They got out early, they cleared them,” said Lawrence Winship. “So the driving really wasn’t slippery as long as you pay attention.”

If you still need to shovel or clear off the car, just a warning if you have any heart problems.

This is heavy, wet snow, so take that into consideration because it can be dangerous to exert yourself in these conditions.
