UMass Amherst was awarded for its exceptional campus food over the weekend.
For the 8th year in a row, UMass dining won the gold at the American Culinary Federation competition.
The competition was held this past Friday during the 24th annual Tastes of the World Culinary Conference at the university.
UMass chefs tested their skills against 15 other culinary teams from across the country.
One UMass student said the win wasn’t a surprise his school chefs came out on top.
“I know I’ve only been at UMass for a year, but the food has never ceased to amaze me or anybody in my family who I think hold cooking to really high standards, especially my Italian grandmother who came down, tried the food and loved it,” said Joe Pasquale.
The 24th Annual Tastes of the World conference was one of the most attended with more than 350 participants.
