UMass hockey players giving back by reading to local students

Hampshire County

HADLEY, Mass. (WWLP) – Members of the nationally ranked UMass hockey team took time out of their busy schedule to read to local children this week.

22News was there as players read to third graders at Hadley Elementary School Tuesday morning. Players also made stops at Fort River and Crocker Farm schools to meet with and read to children.

Students and teachers from local schools have also been invited to attend the team’s “Read-A-Minute” game on November 30 vs. UConn.

UMass Hockey is currently ranked #3 in the nation, and is off to the best start in the program’s Division I history.
