A portion of Union Street (Route 141) in Easthampton was closed much of the day Wednesday after a driver crashed into a utility pole.
It’s now reduced to one lane between Cottage Street and Railroad Street. Easthampton police wrote on Facebook that the road is expected to reopen by 3:00 p.m.
Easthampton Police Officer Robert Pouska told 22News that a car struck a utility pole at around 11:00 p.m. Tuesday, bringing down telephone and cable lines.
The driver was taken to the hospital for injuries, but Pouska said he is expected to survive.
