WHMP Radio host Bob Flaherty played ping pong for nearly 12 hours straight Friday to support a local charity.
Starting at 7 a.m., people could stop by Zing Table Tennis in Easthampton and pay $50 to challenge Flaherty to a game of ping pong.
All of the proceeds went to Catholic Charities fund to help refugees resettling in Northampton.
A number of notable locals stopped by to play.
Flaherty told 22News, “The mayor of Easthampton was the first opponent, Nicole LaChapelle, and she showed up dressed like ‘Thing 1’ from The Cat in the Hat. And she played in costume the whole time.”
The event raised more than $4000.
