Yarde Tavern in South Hadley reopens after fire

Hampshire County

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (WWLP) – The Yarde Tavern in South Hadley has finally reopened after a fire forced them to close.

The fire destroyed the apartment above the restaurant on April 11.

The restaurant and bar on Hadley Street was planning to re-open on Easter, but the restaurant remained closed for another week to make sure all of the renovations were complete.

The general manager of Yarde Tavern said since the restaurant opened at 11:30 a.m. on Friday morning, the restaurant has been a full house.

General Manager, Marco Carreira told 22News, “We’re excited to start serving the community. we cannot wait. the community has been great. the amount of support we’ve received has been overwhelming and I cannot thank them enough.”

Carreira also said he’s thankful the South Hadley Fire Department put the fire out so quickly and saved the restaurant.
