Malfunctioning car believed to be cause of Warren garage fire

Local News

WARREN, Mass. (WWLP) -Firefighters were called in from multiple towns to help put out a garage fire in Warren Friday night.

Warren Fire Lt. Paul Russell Jr. told 22News crews were called to a two-story garage at 20 Hines Avenue just before midnight Saturday for reports of a fire.

When firefighters got there, they saw flames shooting out of the front of the garage as well as the right side window.

Fire departments from Ware, Brimfield, and West Brookfield were all called in to help as well as National Grid.

A car and multiple recreational vehicles were parked in the garage at the time of the fire.

The state fire marshal believes the car parked inside of the garage malfunctioned — which caused the fire.

No one was injured.
