CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Several cities and towns across western Massachusetts have put parking bans in effect for Monday’s snowstorm.

Last year, the Springfield Police had 150 vehicles towed on the weekend of February 24th in Springfield. Cars are ticketed and towed to CJ’s on Pasco Road. You’ll not only have to pay the fine but also the cost to have the vehicle towed. The reason behind these parking bans… safety.

“If there’s a medical emergency, every second counts. So whether it’s a police response, a fire response, or an ambulance response, every second matters to save a person’s life, potentially to keep those streets cleared out as quickly and efficiently as possible,” said Springfield Police Spokesperson Ryan Walsh.
