HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – Police closed a section of High Street and I-391 Wednesday night for a murder investigation.

Our 22News crew could see police tape blocking off the end of the highway at the intersection of High Street. According to a news conference held at Holyoke City Hall Thursday afternoon, Hampden District Attorney Anthony Gulluni told the public, that the police are investigating the city’s fifth murder.

Three murders happened in July and two in September, and arrests have been made in all cases except for Wednesday’s homicide. Gulluni did not release the victim’s identity however, the suspect was seen on surveillance walking up to the victim and firing a gun.

Additional information has not been released at this time due to the ongoing investigation.
