SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Our 2018 Toys for Tots campaign came to an end Monday night. Thanks to you, nearly 2,000 children in western Massachusetts will be waking up Christmas morning to toys under their tree.
U.S. Marines from Westover Air Reserve Base came to WWLP-22News early Tuesday morning, along with two tractor trailers and a box truck. The Marines, along with members of the Holyoke Police Department, United Tractor Trailer School, and ROCA, spent nearly two hours clearing our lobby of your toy donations.
In total, the toys filled two tractor trailers and two box trucks. Another tractor trailer was filled with just bicycles!
Your donations will now go to the Toys for Tots warehouse, where they will be organized and distributed to local nonprofits, churches, and other organizations before being handed out to families in need.
