Warren residents took part in the police department’s citizens police academy on Thursday.

Thursday’s class focused on motor vehicle stops. Joseph LaFlower of the Warren Police Department told 22News students wore police duty belts and used training guns to role play and act out police scenarios.

Student Ruth Lizak can be seen in one of the photos using the passenger side door of the cruiser as cover as she helps her classmate execute a simulated felony stop of an armed subject.

According to a post on the Warren Police Citizens Police Academy Facebook page, this Saturday’s class will focus more on car stops and building searches.
