WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The city of Westfield mourns the loss of 11-year school committee member Kevin Sullivan.

The 52-year-old attorney and brother of Westfield Mayor Brian Sullivan and former Mayor Rick Sullivan, died suddenly this week from a massive heart attack.

He leaves behind his wife and two grown children.

Kevin’s brother Bo Sullivan remembers him as always someone who always gave back to the city, a staunch supporter of education, and a baseball coach, whose mentoring affected the lives of a generation of young people.

Bo Sullivan said of his late brother, he was a positive force for his family as well.

“He was the one I would call, he was the one my brothers and sister called all the time,” Bo said. “I think what I’m feeling, I’m starting to miss the 9 in the morning phone call that says ‘Hey what are you doing today?'”

Calling hours for Kevin Sullivan will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Firtion-Adams Funeral Home.

Monday morning at 10:30, there will be a Funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Church in Westfield, followed by burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
