Yearly STD transmission increases again

Sexually transmitted diseases are on the rise for the fourth year in a row.

The Centers for Disease Control released a report Tuesday stating that new cases of STD’s rose 10-percent in 2017.

Dr. Robert Wool from Women’s Health Associates explained to 22News that these infections are easily preventable. “If people could limit their partners to one that would reduce the risk of STDs. The problem is that’s not necessarily happening throughout the community. My recommendation would be condom use, regardless of whether or not you think you’re going to pick up a disease.”

Nearly 2.3 million cases of chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis were diagnosed in the United States last year.
