Local pub raises money in support of children in foster care

The second annual charity Homebrew Showcase was held Saturday at Paddy’s Irish Pub in Springfield.

The event showcased beer from 15 small breweries. The money raised from the event will goes towards the non-profit organization “All Our Kids.”

The organization’s goal is to engage the public in supporting foster and adoptive families in western Massachusetts, and to raise awareness about the needs of children in foster care.

“It’s an opportunity for home brewers from around the area to showcase their talents while supporting children and families,” Chris Maza told 22News.

“Your participation in this event not only gets you a great afternoon of sampling local craft beers, but it also lets you support children and families whose lives have been touched by foster care,” said Marianna Litovich.

Last year the event raised over $2,200. The organizers expect this year’s event will raise even more as the number of sponsors, and participating breweries has expanded.
