SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Since Professor Emeritus William Bradley retired from teaching at Western New England University, he’s been able to devote more time to his passion, improving his solar cooking implements.
Professor Bradley and his wife served a backyard lunch Saturday afternoon that was prepared by his solar cooking device and told 22News, “One of my goals was to design cookers like the kitchen stove, the one’s most people are using. Some of these smaller cookers can cook, but we want to cook faster than the kitchen stove, people will accept it better.”
Professor Bradley’s wife Carolyn supports her husband’s solar technology. She explained, “I got caught up in his passion, it’s a passion, he hopes to build it like an oven. He does all the technology, had all the figuring out, but if he needs an extra hand, I can provide that extra hand.”
Their guests, who enjoyed the solar cooked lunch, are excited about getting in on the ground floor of what could revolutionize what, up to now, has been slaving over a hot stove preparing dinner. If Professor Bradley has his way, there will be something new and improved under the sun.
