SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Easter is practically here and local shoppers are growing frustrated with the Stop and Shop strike.

Stop and Shop employees have been on strike for nine days, and the deli and bakery counters of the grocery chain have remained closed.

Stop and Shop also said their meat selection is extremely limited.

Many shoppers have turned to Big Y during the strike, but Big Y is closed Easter Sunday.

One local Springfield resident told 22News she feels guilty even entering Stop and Shop to go to her bank, and for Easter, she has to take her business elsewhere.

Carol Stotz told 22News, “Ham for Easter. That’s for sure, but I had to get it somewhere else. that’s what happens.”

Over 30,000 Stop and Shop employees are currently on strike.
