The person hit and killed by a train Friday night in the Pittsfield area has been identified.
Amtrak Spokesperson Jason Abrams told 22News, 43-year-old Raheem Johnson of Pittsfield was the individual hit by train.
Abrams said Johnson died as a result of the accident.
He said Johnson was wearing headphones and was illegally trespassing on the tracks at the time of the incident.
The Amtrak Lake Shore Limited train 448 was traveling from Chicago to Boston at 6:14 p.m. Friday when it come into contact with Johnson near Pittsfield.
None of the 128 passengers or crew members on board were injured in the incident.
Abrams also stressed that it takes a full mile for a train to stop and people should exercise caution when around railroad tracks and crossings.
