MANSFIELD, Mass. (WPRI) — A man has been arrested and is accused of robbing a gas station in Mansfield.

Police say they were called to the Mobil station on Chauncy Street around 6 a.m. Sunday.

The man has been identified as Alfredo Rosa, 27, from Avon.

The clerk told police that Rosa flashed a gun before driving off.

Several local police departments, including Foxboro, along with Massachusetts State Police assisted in the search.

Police say they spotted Rosa’s car on Copeland Drive. He didn’t stop when they attempted to pull him over.

Officers followed the car onto 495, where Rosa got out of his car and ran into a wooded area.

While searching for him, police received a call about an attempted carjacking in Foxboro.

Rosa pulled a knife and demanded the victim’s car, but ran off before the altercation escalated.

A short time later, Foxboro Police and Massachusetts State Police troopers took Rosa into custody at gunpoint. Police recovered a gun while searching the area.

Rosa is facing several charges, including armed robbery while masked and uttering threats to kill.

He will also be charged with a gas station robbery in Stoughton that happened around 2 a.m. on Sunday.
