You may no longer have the chance to become a billionaire overnight, but there’s a lot of money still up for grabs!
Wednesday night’s Powerball jackpot is worth $620 million with an estimated cash option of $354 million.
22News spoke to one lottery player who said although she doesn’t play often, her dream of going back to her home country keeps her in the game.
“I’d take care of my grandchildren, my son, go on vacation, go back home for a while,” said Ingrid Vermette of Ludlow. “I haven’t been in Germany since last year. My son took me for my birthday.”
While the winner of Tuesday night’s Mega Millions jackpot was in South Carolina, our state has had some lucky winners in the past.
The state Lottery Commission released a list this week of some of the luckiest stores in the state. The commission said much of it comes down to volume sold.
In our area, College Highway Variety in Easthampton made the list, with five winners of a million dollars or more.
One customer said she isn’t surprised.
“As for myself, I’ve won in one week, I think I bought four $100 scratch ticket winners, and two $40,” said Jean of Southampton. “I know they do a good volume here, and I know my chances of getting at least $50 are pretty good.”
