(WTNH) – A Massachusetts man is pleading guilty to forging an artifact that ended up in Hartford’s Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art.
Prosecutors say 69-year old Harold Gordon took a plain writing desk and converted it into the “Bingham Family Civil War Memorial Secretary.”
Gordon then sold the piece to an antiques dealer for more than $64,000 dollars.
Gordon now faces up to 20 years in prison for creating the forgery.
