Additional funding for fire departments announced by Gov. Baker


SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Five million dollars in grant funding has been awarded to more than 300 fire departments across Massachusetts. The announcement coming from the Baker administration today.

Now this money will be used to help local fire departments purchase equipment that will help make the job safer.

This is the second round of grant awards, stemming from 25 million dollar bond bill designed to support firefighter safety in the coming years.
