Dartmouth police make arrest in “upskirting” incident


(WPRI) — Dartmouth police have arrested a suspect in an alleged “upskirting” incident in Walmart.

Investigators received a call on Friday saying the suspect, identified as 30-year-old Craig Tavares of Westport, was inside the Walmart on State Road and attempting to use his phone to photograph or record video under the skirt of a woman in the store.

Police were able to locate Tavares and he was arrested and is charged with “photographing, videotaping or electronically surveilling partially nude or nude person or the sexual or other intimate parts of a person around the person’s clothing.”

No other information is available now as the incident is still under investigation.
