Families enjoy Easter egg hunts throughout western Mass.

The Easter egg hunt remains as popular as ever in cities and towns throughout Western Massachusetts.

In holyoke families gathered at Heritage State Park to continue the time honored tradition.

Westfield children attended the mayor’s 24th Annual Egg Hunt at South Middle School.

Northampton’s Look Park kept its egg hunt tradition alive just as Springfield’s Forest Park Zoo celebrated it’s seasonal opening day with its longtime favorite Easter weekend event “Eggstravaganza”.

The springtime celebration isn’t just for the children. “Oh we love it, we come every year, my grandmother helped set it up…”, Matthew Heisler told 22News, “,,,It’s great for holyoke, all the kids running around here, it’s fun.”

The families at Holyoke’s Heritage State Park enjoyed the bonus of having the merry go round.

It was a ride of rest for the youngsters who spent so much energy on collecting those easter eggs.
