ANDOVER, Mass. (WWLP) – A father, mother, and 12-year-old boy were found dead in their Andover home Thursday morning in an apparent case of murder-suicide.

Andover police received a 911 call from inside the home around 3:21 a.m. Thursday morning. Officers arrived at the home five minutes later and had to breach two doors of the home. Inside, they found a 56-year-old father, 55-year-old mother, and their 12-year-old son dead with gunshot wounds.

The father has been identified as Andrew Robinson, his wife Linda, and their son Sebastian. The incident allegedly stemmed from domestic violence inside the home. Andrew died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to the DA’s office.

“Obviously, we know the how; we’re trying to figure out the why right now, so we’re going to need some time to figure that out,” Chief Keefe said during a news conference at the scene.

Essex County District Attorney Paul Tucker says there is no danger to the public and is reminding residents that services are available for anyone suffering from mental health issues.

The child’s school, Saint John’s Prep in Danvers, was notified of the incident and canceled classes for the day.

The Essex County District Attorney’s Office State Police Detective Unit, other divisions of the Massachusetts State Police and the Andover Police Department are investigating the incident.
