(WPRI) — A man facing charges of animal cruelty is now being held in jail on new charges.
Gregory Ostiguy, 50, of New Bedford was arraigned Friday on charges of making threats to commit a crime and intimidation of a witness.
Prosecutors allege he made a threat against a probation officer at the courthouse over the phone.
In an unrelated incident, Ostriguy was arrested in May, after allegedly beating his dog with a baseball bat, because the dog ate his Burger King Whopper.
Ostiguy’s bail hearing for the animal cruelty charge has now been revoked.
He’s being held for up to 120 days, until his next court appearance.
