SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Massachusetts ranks among the top 10 healthiest states in the nation for people over 60.
That’s according to the United Health Foundation.
AIC hosted a presentation Tuesday night where the Tufts Health Foundation reviewed the Massachusetts Healthy Aging Data Report. The report includes maps and other tools to help understand healthy aging trends.
While Massachusetts is healthy overall, the report’s lead researcher told 22News why there are disparities throughout the state.
“There’s a lot to health before you get to the diagnosis or to the doctor’s office,” Beth Dugan explained. “Health starts in our homes, in our families, our neighborhoods, our schools, where we work, where we volunteer. And there are a lot of differences depending on the social resources that we have.”
