Military helicopter forced to make emergency landing in Warren

A military helicopter had to make an emergency landing in Warren Sunday afternoon. 

Warren police were called to the report of two military helicopters that landed in a field in the area of Reed Street in Warren Sunday afternoon. 

A viewer sent 22News this photo of two military helicopters that landed. 

According to Warren Police Sergeant Gerald Millette, one of the helicopters was forced to make an emergency landing in a field on Reed Street around 2 p.m.

Millette told 22News one of the helicopters experienced a mechanical issue while in the air, and was forced to land in order to fix it.

The helicopter did land safely and no injuries were reported.

22News has reached out to several local air bases to find out where the helicopters were based out of, and where they were headed.
