FAIRHAVEN, Mass. (WPRI) — Fire crews descended on McCormick Manor on Washington Street Saturday night, quickly extinguishing an apartment fire.

Eyewitness News has learned that a 66-year-old man was initially rushed to St. Luke’s Hospital in critical condition.  CPR was performed and the victim was revived, according to fire officials.

The man has since been transported to Mass General Hospital in Boston where he is listed in serious, but stable condition.

We’re told, the fire was contained to one apartment, but that smoke had spread to some others.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
