Mass. (WWLP) – With temperatures as high as they are it’s important to remember to keep children away from open windows.
According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, over 5,000 children fall from windows each year in the United States. This is more prevalent during the warmer months when windows are left open. Around 65% of all window fall injuries occur among children under the age of 5.
The easiest way to prevent window falls is to;
- Open windows from the top rather than from the bottom.
- Install window bars that allow windows to be open.
- Fall prevention screens are designed to ensure a child cannot fall through
