Services announced for fallen Worcester firefighter

WORCESTER, Mass. (WWLP) – Funeral services have been announced for the Worcester firefighter killed while battling a five-alarm fire over the weekend.

According to the Worcester Fire Department, calling hours for Firefighter Christopher Roy will be held at St. John’s Catholic Church on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at the church at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, following a private family procession from Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home.

Roy will be laid to rest at Notre Dame Cemetery in Worcester following the services.

A memorial fund has been started by Worcester Firefighters IAFF Local 1009 in name of Roy’s daughter, Ava Roy. Checks may be made payable to the AVA ROY FUND and mailed directly to the Worcester Fire Department Credit Union, 34 Glennie St, Worcester, MA 01605.
