Somerset to implement parking bans for Brayton Point implosion

(WPRI) — In anticipation for the upcoming implosion of the Brayton Point Power Station, the Somerset Police Department has announced they will be instituting parking restrictions in the town.

The parking restrictions will go into effect April 27 from midnight to noon.

The areas included in the parking restrictions will have signs posted that read, “NO PARKING PER ORDER OF SOMERSET POLICE.”

A full list of roads impacted can be located on the Somerset Police Department’s Facebook page and are listed below:

  • Brayton Point Road (Butler Street to O’Neil Road) on both sides
  • Crestview Avenue on the north side
  • Briggs Avenue on the south side
  • Rice Avenue on the south side
  • Jackson Avenue on the south side
  • Harbor View Boulevard on the north side
  • O’Neil Road on both sides 
  • Ripley Street on the south side
  • Anawan Street on the east side
  • Massasoit Street on the west side
  • Pocasset Street on the north side
  • Angus Street on the east side
  • Carey Street on the south side
  • Perkins Street on the east side
  • Keene Street on the east side
  • Stoddard Street on the west side
  • Farren Street on the east side
  • Stanley Street on the east side
  • Hebb Street on the west side
  • Burke Street on the west side
  • Home Street on the east side
  • Kenneth Avenue on the south side
  • Randolph Street on the west side
  • Kathleen Avenue on the north side
