State Police seek person with K9 training knowledge for retired dog

It’s been a month since we first introduced you to Klauss and Alex, two State Police K9’s entering retirement and in need of forever homes.

Since then, the response to adopt these dogs has been overwhelming. State Police received more than 1,700 applications.

State Police Lt. Patrick Silva told 22News they have been able to find a home for 8-year-old Alex.

They are still in the vetting process for 5-year-old Klauss.

Lt. Silva said because these working dogs have never been pets before, they’re hoping to find a working environment for Klaus, as well as a person who has knowledge of K9 training.
