Biting dogs are a danger all year, and that danger increases as the weather warms up.
Some 1400 dog bites occur every day; postal workers are frequent targets.
The United States Postal Service is urging dog owners to do what they can to help keep letter carriers safe.
- First; be responsible. Control your pet.
- Keep him or her on a leash outdoors.
- Teach family members dog bite prevention.
- Let your postal delivery person know you’re taking action to protect them.
And lastly always keep an eye on your pet.
