VIDEO: Massachusetts Virtual Veterans Day Ceremony

Massachusetts

BOSTON (WWLP) – The state honored veterans this year with a special program that was live-streamed Wednesday across the Commonwealth.

The ceremony included remarks from Governor Charlie Baker and tributes from the military, veterans, clergy, and musical performances.

Governor Baker was joined by the new Secretary of Veteran’s Services Cheryl Lussier Poppe. The two got the chance to thank the brave men and women who fought for this nation, acknowledging the sacrifices they had to make along the way.

And we would not be the country we are, we would not have the freedoms we have if it weren’t for those who chose to sign up and put themselves in harm’s way on behalf of the rest of us.

Even though Massachusetts residents had to watch the flags lowered through a screen, and the band could only play at half volume, the message of this year’s ceremony remains the same as the others.
