HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – The Economic Development Grant will turn an empty industrial building in Holyoke’s Canal District into the new home for Holyoke Community College’s hospitality and culinary arts program.

Students told 22News, their new home opens vast possibilities. Jessica Labonte, a student in HCC’s culinary arts program, said she would, “Possibly open my own restaurant; there are so many ideas. It’s hard to pick a place to start.”

Congressman Neal brought the welcome news. The new culinary arts department will be able to accommodate twice the number of students; enrollment will grow from 60 to 120 future chefs.
