New Orleans teen accepted into 115 colleges, offered $3.8M in scholarships

NEW ORLEANS (WFLA/CNN) – A high school senior in New Orleans is celebrating a huge accomplishment after being accepted to more than 100 colleges.

Antoinette Love will be the first in her family to go to college. As if that wasn’t impressive enough, she’s also breaking records.

The 18-year-old has been accepted to 115 colleges and universities across the country. She’s also been offered nearly $3.8 million in scholarships – more than any other college senior in America so far this year.

“I want to show others that it’s possible to be accepted into college and go to college,” Love said. “Not everybody goes because they feel like they can’t.”

Love says her goal is to give back and become an elementary school teacher.

College offers have come in from all over the country, but her parents are hoping she picks somewhere relatively close to home.

“I say within 8-hour driving distance in my mind,” her mom Yolanda said. “To her, I don’t know, she’ll probably go to Alaska just to do something like that to make my nerves go bad.”
