Police in North Adams are warning residents that they may hear loud booms this week starting Tuesday evening.
According to the North Adams Police Department, National Grid on Brown Street will be using a sound emitting propane cannon from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. daily until Saturday to disperse a flock of crows.
Police said the crows have been persistently roosting on National Grid’s property despite several previous attempts to disperse the flock.
The cannon will be pointed at the crows every day and will use sonic waves to try to get the flock to leave the property.
No projectiles will be fired from the cannon, but there may be multiple attempts with the cannon each day during the time frame.
