People took advantage of Saturday’s weather to play golf outside

It was a perfect Saturday to just be outside. 22News went to East Mountain Country Club in Westfield to find many people taking advantage of the weather.

The combination of a long weekend, sunshine, and warmer air usually means people plan their days outside. 22News went to East Mountain Country Club in Westfield, where golfers turned out early Saturday morning to get out on the green and take advantage of Saturday’s weather.

Bill Mcdermott, from West Springfield, told 22News, “It looks nice today, sun is out so its a good day to play golf.”

Since spring started March 20th we have only reached the 50s a couple of times, so when 50s are in the forecast most people want to spend their days outdoors.

After a crazy weather month of March, some people just wanted to soak up the sunshine.

Glenn Gagan, from Chicopee, told 22News, “Your inside all winter long with the snow and the cold, so its good to get out.”

The owners of East Mountain Country Club told 22News there was nothing surprising about so many players out on the greens, warm days in the spring usually brings a crowd.
