Burger King on Cooley St. closed until further notice after vent fire

The Burger King on Cooley Street in Springfield will be closed until further notice after Springfield firefighters put out a fire Wednesday evening.

Springfield Fire Department spokesman Dennis Leger told 22News fire crews were called to the fast food restaurant on 400 Cooley Street around 5:18 p.m., and found a grill area exhaust vent system ductwork fire.

Leger said the fire was “quickly extinguished with no injuries.”

The health department was notified and the fast food restaurant is expected to remain closed until sometime Thursday, Leger added.
