There was a police presence at the Pioneer Valley Performing Arts School charter school Friday afternoon.

According to PVPA Interim Executive Director Marc Kenen, a concerning comment was made by a student and was overheard in a classroom.

The school worked with the South Hadley Police Department to ensure the safety of the community.

Kenen said there was never any danger, but safety always comes first.

Kenen also said that because of student confidentiality laws, they cannot share any more about the incident.
