Both sides make final push ahead of midterms

With just four days left until the midterm elections, candidates on both sides are mixing political power with star power in hopes of gaining votes. 

 During a campaign event in Columbia, Missouri Thursday, President Donald Trump shined a spotlight on himself, and immigration, after announcing his plans to sign an executive order that would deny asylum for immigrants, unless they come to legal ports of entry. 

 “These are not angels. These are tough people. We’re not letting them into our country illegally,” said Mr. Trump.

 Thursday’s visit comes after the president sent thousands of troops to the southwest border to block a caravan of migrants making its way to the U.S.

 Meanwhile, tight races across the country are bringing out big names in Georgia’s gubernatorial election. Oprah Winfrey knocked on doors for Democratic candidate Stacey Abrams, while Vice President Mike Pence rallied for the Republican nominee, Brian Kemp.

 The campaign continues Friday, when President Trump makes two stops in Virginia and Indiana.
