(NBC News) Trade negotiations continue between U.S. and Chinese officials.
President Trump is optimistic about the potential for a deal, but sticking points still remain between the world’s two largest economies on major issues relating to intellectual property theft, escalating tariffs and taxes on goods shipped between the two countries. That could have a huge impact on everything you pay for, including clothes and electronics.
China is also hopeful there’s a deal to be had, tweeting overnight of a “new consensus reached” with “leadership needed” to make it work.
U.S. and Chinese negotiators began their ninth round of talks on Wednesday.
