(AP) — U.S. Rep. Richard Neal is outpacing fellow members of Massachusetts’ all-Democratic U.S. House delegation in the hunt for campaign dollars.
The newly minted chairman of the powerful Ways and Means Committee reported raising more than half a million dollars in the first three months of the year, leaving him with about $3.4 million left in his campaign account.
About 59 percent of the $523,000 Neal reported in total receipts during the first quarter came from sources like political action committees.
Coming in second to Neal was freshman Rep. Lori Trahan, who reported $394,000 in receipts during the first three months of the year, including more than $135,000 from sources like political action committees.
Rep. Joe Kennedy had the third largest haul, collecting almost $372,000 in receipts from January through March
