Potholes on Shaker Road a concern for drivers and residents in Westfield

Drivers in Westfield are concerned about potholes on Shaker Road.

Shaker Road connects Tannery Road with Route 187 in Westfield.

There are several sections of the road where drivers have to take it slow because of all of the potholes.

Westfield resident Jessica Britton told 22News that many of the potholes are near the Shaker Farms Country Club.

“Every year this area is hit with really bad potholes,” Britton said. “It’s hard driving at night because you have to remember where they are and navigate through them.”

Assistant Director of Westfield Public Works Francis Cain told 22News that they’ve been using hot patch for the last two weeks to fix potholes throughout the city.

He said they plan to repave sections of Shaker Road as well as North Road sometime this year.

If your car is damaged, you can file a claim with the city for hitting damaging potholes on the city’s website.
